Position Summary: The Marketing and Communications Coordinator creates compelling content across digital and print platforms to amplify our mission and engage membership, stakeholders, and the general public. The Coordinator is responsible for planning and executing communication strategies that strengthen community connection and strategic relationships. The position collaborates closely with a small team to promote events, campaigns and engagement opportunities to further our movement. 

Report to: CCWESTT Executive Director

Job Type: Fixed-term full-time employment position ending March 31, 2027, with the possibility of extension pending performance and funding availability.

Pay: $60,000 - $70,000

Location: This is a remote position, with a home office setup. The position can be located anywhere within Canada. Occasional travel for meetings or events is required.

Organization Description: CCWESTT (Canadian Coalition of Women in Engineering, Science, Trades and Technology) is a national not-for-profit coalition of organizations and individuals who champion a gender-equitable, diverse, and inclusive Canadian SETT sector. We build alliances and partnerships, act as a resource hub, and advocate with a strong, unified voice.

Responsibilities and Duties: CCWESTT is seeking a dynamic, innovative, self-motivated and skilled individual to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

 Responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and execute marketing campaigns to drive new member acquisitions, increase individual memberships, and expand CCWESTT's national network
  • Develop communications plans for CCWESTT activities including projects, events and programs, aligning tactics and timelines with evolving organizational objectives
  • Coordinate the creation of corporate marketing collateral, including digital media kits, partnership packages, and presentation decks to support board members and leadership in securing corporate partners and event sponsors
  • Lead the publication of the e-Newsletter and blog by coordinating content with the CCWESTT team and members, as well as writing, editing, formatting, and sharing via CCWESTT’s CRM platform
  • Ensure CCWESTT communications follow CCWESTT branding, style guide, social media policies and procedures, and accessibility guidelines
  • Review and edit social media posts prepared by Social Media & Engagement Coordinator
  • Support event planning, including developing thematic topics, scripting, and leading audience communication
  • Communicate event, program and announcement details via website and email as required
  • Track, analyze, and present comprehensive monthly marketing metrics—including website traffic patterns, email conversion rates, and audience growth to inform strategic planning
  • Develop a media relations strategy for CCWESTT program goals, including developing and cultivating media contacts in key markets across Canada 
  • Liaison between external communications vendors and CCWESTT staff
  • Ensure expenses are reported accurately and responsibly
  • Support the implementation of recommendations to improve organizational effectiveness, with a particular focus on strategic activities and organizational sustainability.
  • Work collaboratively with the CCWESTT Board, team members, member organizations, and partners.

Relevant Experience, Attributes and Skills: Experiences, qualifications and skills of the successful candidate will include:

  • Post-secondary diploma/degree
  • 3 or more years experience in communications, marketing, content development, or other relevant fields’
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, and attention to detail
  • Experience with social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram)
  • Experience with newsletter distribution platform 
  • Experience in communication to support event planning and management (zoom)
  • Experience with web content management systems (e.g. Wordpress)
  • Experience with graphics creation for professional communication (Canva)
  • Excellent writing skills – including proofreading, editing and grammar
  • Demonstrated ability to write appropriately for the intended audience
  • Excellent time management, planning, and follow through
  • Highly self-motivated and self-managed; ability to work independently and as part of a team

The following competencies would be considered an asset:

  • Knowledge of diversity and inclusion challenges limiting gender equity in the workplace
  • Experience working in the field of engineering, science, trades or technology
  • Bilingualism in French and English
  • Experience with media relations including writing and issuing press releases
  • Proficiency in productivity and collaboration software (such as Google or Microsoft Suite).
